Say Hi To A Stranger
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Last weekend, I went to LA and a friend of mine suggested I go visit OneLA. I was on my way in my uber pool, then the driver got to the destination and said it was mine. I exited the vehicle and said goodbye to the other passengers.
I could tell I was not where I needed to be. I asked the first girl, I saw if I was in the right location and she asked me where I was going. She told me she had actually been to OneLA and I was not there. She told me she was headed to mass and I could join her, so I did.
We quickly chatted and learned we had a lot in common. I experienced my first mass and she showed me around the church afterward, introducing me to the history and etc. (SN: I saw the other passengers in mass later that morning.)
We walked through a garden talking about Christ, current challenges we were facing, goals and giving each other advice.
Then she led me to this waterfall, took my camera and told me to start posing in front of it, I took pictures of her and got someone to take pictures of us.
Some will say I was crazy, but God will not lead you where he has not already been. The priest talked in mass about having an aurora of God glowing from you, that no one has to question your faith. I know in my hearts of hearts God was with us that day.
Say hi to a stranger, you never know it may turn out to be what you needed.
